I am a born-again phan. I've loved Phantom of the Opera since Christmas of 1987, but I drifted away into other interests over the years. The movie has lured me back...for now at least.
During the height of my phandom, I saw Phantom on stage in New York, London, and Los Angeles. I saw Crawford, Dave Willetts, Steve Barton (as both Raoul and the Phantom), Davis Gaines, and the ultimate understudy, Jeff Keller. I was kissed by (IMO) the two best Phantoms ever and have lovely letters from both of them which are among my most treasured possessions. For a time, I edited a newsletter called Phan Mail (not to be confused with the much better and more professional Phantom Notes), but probably my biggest claim to fame in Phantom-dom is a trilogy of stories which were published in P-Notes's fanzine, Hard As Lightning, Soft As Candlelight, and then enjoyed a lovely run on my website until recently. (A problem--mine? theirs?--occurred when Geocities and Yahoo merged, and I was unable to update the webpages. Eventually, although people were finding/reading the site, they shut it down because I hadn't updated it. "Catch 22", anybody?)
My current plans are to set up another website, to share the stories with any interested LJ Phantom groups, and to try very hard not to let my fandoms overlap...
